Meet Marian Garcia Gonzaga

November Champion of the Month, Marian Garcia Gonzaga, is a dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) Level 3 at Rise Coon Rapids. She’s been part of the team for nearly two years, bringing experience from her previous work supporting young children in grades K–2 through lessons, play-based activities, and daily routines.

At Rise, Marian finds fulfillment in building meaningful connections and watching the people she serves grow. “Knowing that I can make a positive impact, even in small ways, is very fulfilling,” she shares. “I also love going on outings and participating in activities. It’s rewarding to know I can help them feel supported, confident, and safe. Every day feels meaningful.”

Marian’s Impact

Marian’s adaptability and leadership have helped her quickly advance from DSP Level 2 to Level 3. Her supervisor, Gigi Rainey, describes her as “extremely versatile” and notes that she thrives under pressure, turning challenges into opportunities. Gigi also praises Marian’s creativity: “She is a wizard at art and crafts. She is able to get the quietest and most withdrawn person served to participate in those activities.”

Colleagues have also noted Marian’s patience and caring nature. One colleague shares, “I’ve learned so much from Marian and have noticed how kind and hardworking she is.” Rise Coon Rapids Program Manager Jennifer Bracht adds that Marian consistently maintains a positive attitude and is always eager to grow her skills.

Outside of Rise

When she’s not working, Marian enjoys hiking with family and friends, catching up over coffee, and watching beautiful sunsets.
