Champion Kelly Nowacki Grows Alongside the People She Supports

Meet Kelly Nowacki
Since joining Rise in February 2024, Kelly Nowacki has become a valued member of the team at Rise Mounds View. Before coming to Rise, she worked at Adult Training and Habilitation Center (ATHC), Mains’l, and a senior living community where she served as a Lead Care Manager. She has also worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant since 2022.
When Kelly learned about an opening at Rise, it felt like the right opportunity to return to the work she enjoys most: supporting people as they pursue their goals and discover new possibilities.
“One of my favorite parts of this job is watching people grow, gain confidence, come out of their shells, and accomplish things they may not have thought possible,” Kelly said. “Seeing their progress and knowing I get to be a small part of their journey is incredibly rewarding.”
Kelly’s Impact
Kelly takes the time to get to know each person she supports, helping create an environment where everyone feels included and valued.
“Kelly cares deeply about the people we support,” said Program Manager Samantha Trebtoske. “She forms individualized relationships with each person in the Mounds View program and goes above and beyond to make sure the people served have quality activities to engage in each day.”
One memorable example was bringing in her bearded dragon, Gary, during Reptile Week, giving the people supported at Rise Mounds View a unique experience they won’t forget.
According to Supervisor Lisa Plaster, Kelly’s willingness to support others is one of the things that makes her stand out.
“Kelly is the person who steps in without hesitation, looks for ways to help before being asked, and brings thoughtful ideas and positive energy into everything she does,” Lisa said.
Kelly Outside of Rise
Outside of work, Kelly enjoys spending time with her son and boyfriend, whether they’re relaxing at home or exploring somewhere new. She also enjoys drawing, reading, gaming, and watching true crime documentaries.
Kelly shares her home with two beloved pets: her cat, Axel, and her bearded dragon, Gary, who has become a favorite among many of the people she supports.
When reflecting on what she is most proud of, Kelly points to the impact she has had on others throughout her career. Encouraging people to reach their goals and seeing them succeed is what motivates her every day.
“What makes it even more special is realizing that while I’m helping them learn and grow, they’re also helping me grow and become a better person along the way.”
