Meet Deanne Olson 

Deanne Olson, Rise’s Champion of the Month for June 2025, has shown an incredible ability to connect with others and has brought positivity to Rise Forest Lake’s Life Enrichment program for nearly two years as a Direct Support Professional (DSP). 

After 17 years in the banking industry, rising from teller to personal banker, Deanne made the decision to follow her heart and pursue a career that would allow her to make a direct, positive impact on people’s lives. 

“I wanted to be able to help people and make a difference,” Deanne shared. And she’s doing just that. At Rise Forest Lake, Deanne has become a trusted and uplifting presence; someone who not only supports the people we serve but empowers them to be seen, heard, and celebrated. She explained, “My favorite things to do with the people we serve are arts and crafts, taking them on outings, and helping them reach their goals.” 

Deanne’s Impact 

During her last two years at Rise, Deanne has become known as a team player who meets every challenge with a positive, can-do attitude. Her supervisor shared, “She has demonstrated exceptional flexibility by learning all six routes and driving the required route each day.” Deanne’s dedication, problem-solving skills, and ability to remain calm under pressure have been essential to the Rise Forest Lake team. 

Deanne’s Director shared, “She is someone the people we serve look forward to seeing every day at Rise because of the positivity and encouragement she provides. She is someone who makes you feel good about being where you are.” Deanne has become familiar with the unique needs and personalities of her group and tailors her approach to each person, reminding those around her that everyone is valuable and capable. 

Deanne Outside of Rise 

When Deanne is not going above and beyond at work, she stays busy with the things she loves most: household projects, tending to her garden, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
