Champion Isabel Martin Inspires Confidence at Cardinal Health
Feb 28, 2026
Meet Isabel Martin
Isabel Martin, Rise’s Champion of the Month for January 2026, is a dedicated DSP in Rise’s CBTE program, where she supports the Rise team at Cardinal Health in New Richmond, Wisconsin.
For Isabel, the best part of her job is seeing people she supports accomplish tasks they have been working hard on, sharing, “When I see a person served accomplish something they’ve been working on, whether it’s focusing more, getting along with someone better, or maybe there’s a certain task they’ve been trying and it’s just not clicking, but then it does, it is so much fun to see them accomplish their goals.”
Isabel’s Impact
Isabel’s impact is clear to her team and leadership. As her supervisor, Michelle Andrews, shares, “Isabel is always person‑centered and has patience when working with her team. She treats everyone with respect and compassion and truly wants to make sure they are successful at the job.”
Over the years, Isabel has worked at a variety of sites, and says she is most proud of the resilience it took to navigate those changes. “I’ve been in different positions at multiple different sites and have worked with so many people. That can be tough for anybody, but navigating those changes and doing what I need to do so I don’t feel burnt out is ultimately what I am most proud of.”
Her adaptability shows up in her daily work. Isabel listens carefully to each person she supports and makes time to address concerns, no matter how busy the day becomes. She helps motivate the Cardinal Health team by tracking pallet counts, giving the team a visual sense of their progress, and allowing them to feel a sense of accomplishment knowing how much they completed. When staffing is short, she is also quick to adjust and often finds creative ways to keep work moving smoothly.
Her leadership team strongly agrees with her recognition. As her Senior Director, Keith Hovland, shares, “Isabel is very deserving of being nominated for Champion of the Month. I support her nomination 100%.”
Isabel Outside of Rise
Outside of work, Isabel is active in her church’s Bible quizzing ministry, which she has been involved in since she was a teenager. She and her husband now help teach and mentor kids in the program.
Isabel is also an avid reader. She set a goal to read 50 books last year and ended up reading 116. As she puts it, “If that tells you another about me… I’m a big reader.”
