He was there the morning of February 18 to learn more about the important work Pathways team members do, the important partnerships we with have with local businesses and employers, and how people who are on welfare are striving to become self-sufficient.
Rep. Ellison also met one-on-one with a few people served by Rise, including Warsame Warsaali who is featured in the March issue of the Rise Reporter, and Latoya Brown, who has one of Rise’s 45 Stories for 45 Years. Both were candid in their discussions with the U.S. congressman regarding their struggles to overcome challenges and become more self-sufficient through employment and their appreciation for the help they received from Pathways team members.
Rep. Ellison expressed his appreciation and admiration for the collaborative work that is being done to assist people on welfare to become gainfully employed.
