As an occupational communication specialist with the DTH Sensory Support team at Rise Spring Lake Park, Jennifer is noted by her colleagues for giving everyone her 100 percent undivided attention and making things happen.

Jennifer came to work at Rise in May 2018. For the past few months, she has been working with a team of people who might otherwise not have work and developed a cleaning crew who works at Spring Lake Park. Her vision for this group is to help ensure that everyone has the opportunity for a fulfilling job.

Jennifer has a background in working with people who are Deaf, Deafblind, and hard-of-hearing so she says this position seems like a perfect fit for her.

“I have a high regard for nonprofits and wanted to be part of this environment and have a sense of purpose. I truly enjoy working with everyone at Rise – everyone I support has a story to tell and I am always learning. I am also so grateful for the wonderful staff at Rise because it really does take a team to make things happen. So many people have helped me and supported me and still do.”

Jennifer has two young children, ages 9 and 12, who keep her busy. She enjoys volunteering and keeps active in her community and at her kids’ school. Jennifer  finds taking pottery classes very relaxing; she is also interesting in learning other languages and currently is taking a Spanish course. Congratulations to Jennifer!
