Meet Jannie Donoho

June Champion of the Month, Jannie Donoho, joined Rise as a direct support professional at our Crystal Life Enrichment program in September 2021. She brings a variety of experiences to her role, having worked as a substitute teacher, a homemaker, and even for a construction publication. Jannie was drawn to Rise after seeing a Facebook ad, and her experience working with children with disabilities in the school system—along with raising two adult sons with Autism—made her feel that this would be a meaningful role for her.

For Jannie, the most rewarding part of her job is the people she supports. “What I enjoy most about working at Rise is the clients, of course! Getting to know about them and their families, and sometimes just being a good listener,” she shares. Jannie takes pride in being part of a dedicated team that ensures everyone has a good day, achieves their goals, and shares a few laughs along the way.

What Jannie’s Colleagues Say

Jannie’s colleagues have nothing but praise for her dedication and positive attitude. “She always puts the people we serve first and cares about the care they receive at Rise,” a coworker shares. Her willingness to speak up for change when necessary is well-recognized, and she approaches challenges with a “can-do” attitude. “Jannie is one of our most dependable staff,” another colleague notes, adding that she’s always punctual, ready to work, and rarely complains. Her ability to notice the little things, such as whether someone has had breakfast, speaks to her genuine care and attentiveness.

Outside of work, you can find Jannie spending time with her family, traveling, spending time with her two cats, and nurturing her gardens.
