Team Member Spotlight: Vince Mans
Sep 18, 2019
Always a people person, Vince Mans finds joy supporting team members as well as adults with disabilities in his administrative specialist role. A 20-year veteran, he began working for Rise in 1999 and has been at the Northeast Minneapolis location the entire time.
Before moving into his current job two-and-a-half years ago, Vince held a variety of positions at Rise, including direct support professional, case manager, respite support staff, respite services manager, and service team leader. The different jobs have included direct support of the people Rise serves, as well as staff supervision; some of the positions have even overlapped at times.
“I like variety and the different ways I can serve people,” says Vince. “If variety is the spice of life, then I lead a spicy life!”
That variety continues with his administrative specialist position. The Northeast Minneapolis location houses several employment programs for Hennepin County which offer customized employment and community integration support. Vince takes pride in being a resource for people as well as Rise managers, and likes that he can use his diverse experience to serve others.
Vince says he enjoys problem-solving and that the relationships he has built at Rise over 20 years helps him quickly connect others to the correct people and resources. His list of job duties is lengthy, including answering phones, managing mail, assisting with IT and maintenance issues for the building, providing office orientation to new team members, managing an onsite resource library, ordering supplies, and more.
But Vince jokes, “My most important responsibility is making sure we don’t run out of coffee!”
“I’m grateful for all Rise has done for me. They’ve provided me with stable income and career growth opportunities. I like learning new things, and Rise’s support for professional development is second to none. It’s been a fabulous experience!”
Outside of work, Vince enjoys spending time with his family, watching local sports, and exercising. He is looking forward to participating in his first 5K through his church and is excited for the beautiful scenery and outdoor activity during his upcoming trip to Estes Park, Colorado.
What an honor it is for Rise to employ such a bright light. Thank you, Vince!
