New Richmond DSP, Andrea Myers is a November Champion of the Month
Jan 13, 2022
Andrea Myers brings a “get it done” attitude to her New Richmond Direct Support Professional position. She’s supported dozens of people during her four years as a DSP and coworkers say she is particularly talented at creating person-centered services. Myers is also a valuable team contributor as she regularly offers advice to help solve problems when programs, services and processes change.
She enjoys working at Rise because of the work variety, and is happy to work alongside her coworkers and the people we serve. And seeing her clients’ excitement as they go about their daily tasks is especially rewarding to her.
When a part-time warehouse employee became ill, Myers stepped in, becoming forklift certified to help fill the gap. Her team was so grateful Myers was eager to take on that new skill.
Myers is especially proud of her coworkers and clients during these past two years, when the COVID-19 pandemic tested us all. The Rise response to these challenges has impressed her, she says. Outside of work Myers enjoys researching her cultural background, learning the Ojibwe language and learning to bead. She also enjoys traveling and having adventures with her family.
