Meet Terrell Milligan

August 2024 Champion of the Month, Terrell Milligan is a lead direct support professional (DSP) at our Mounds View location. With past coaching experience, he quickly found a passion for his work shortly after joining Rise just over a year ago. He stepped into a Lead DSP position just six months after joining us.

For Terrell, the most rewarding part of his job is the adventure that each day brings. “Rise provides the foundation necessary to make an actual difference in the lives we touch every day,” he says. “Coupled with amazing support from supervisors, managers, and directors, it’s hard to replicate this type of work environment.”

Terrell is proud of the work he’s accomplished so far and sees “an ocean of knowledge” in his future.

Terrell’s Impact

Terrell has made a big impression on his colleagues in just one year. He “clearly cares a lot about the people served and works hard to show that,” a coworker shares. Another team member has noticed Terrell’s dedication to professional development in his field. Terrell has taken time to offer ideas to improve activity offerings as well as staff communications, providing opportunities for growth for both the people we support, and his Mounds View team members.

Terrell Outside of Rise

Outside of work, Terrell spends quality time with his wife and children, finding it “priceless” to witness the people they are growing into.
