Meet Ophelia Clarke-Klar
July Champion of the Month, Ophelia Clarke-Klar, joined Rise in October 2023 as a Direct Support Professional at our Springbrook life enrichment program. She brings 21 years of experience in caregiving, which has given her a deep passion for serving others, especially those who are in need or unable to help themselves. “I love serving people,” she explains. “I believe God led me to Rise where I’m mostly needed.” Ophelia shares that she appreciates the welcoming and supportive environment at Rise, where she gets to work with great people and enjoy the benefit of weekends and holidays off.
What Ophelia loves most about her work at Rise is the people she supports. She takes pride in the relationships she builds with them, greeting each day with a smile. “I am proud of the people served and the entire staff team,” she says. Her lighthearted, fun-loving spirit makes her a joy to be around, especially during competitive games of Family Feud where she never fails to make everyone laugh.
Ophelia’s impact
Ophelia’s colleagues admire her dedication and positive attitude, especially during challenging times. “She has been a joy to work with,” a colleague shares, noting how Ophelia has continued to show up every day with a good attitude, even when the team was short-staffed. “She drives both the morning and afternoon routes and has never once complained about it.” Her commitment to the Springbrook team is clear, as she volunteers for extra tasks and brings a sense of joy and stability to the people she serves. Another team member praised Ophelia for her reliability, stating that she’s “a critical part of the Springbrook team, and we’d be lost without her.”
Outside of work, Ophelia enjoys making others happy, dancing, and sharing food. Her hobbies include cooking, cleaning, and shopping, but her true joy comes from helping others in need. Her compassionate spirit and willingness to lend a hand make her an integral part of the Rise community and a cherished team member at Springbrook.
