Meet Laura Taylor
Champion of the Month for February 2025, Laura Taylor is a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for Life Enrichment at Rise Springbrook. After experience working as a nursing assistant in both short and long-term care settings, she came to Rise in the fall of 2023 because of a love for supporting people with disabilities. Laura has since made a significant impact on those around her because of her caring attitude, dedication, and flexibility in her role.
Laura’s Impact
Laura’s colleagues describe her as someone who always goes the extra mile, demonstrating adaptability and a caring nature that makes her a valued team member. “Laura always goes above and beyond,” one colleague shared. “She’s flexible when things get switched at the last minute. She’s also very caring, and the people served enjoy being around her.” Others appreciate her ability to truly connect, saying, “She’s a good listener and talks to the people at their level.”
Beyond her ability to build strong relationships, Laura has played a crucial role in keeping things running smoothly—even when short-staffed. Her positive attitude shines through in all she does, as one colleague put it: “She embraces change with a good attitude.”
Laura’s passion for working with people with disabilities is evident in everything she does. Reflecting on her journey, she shares, “I chose Rise because I love working with people with disabilities. They are so genuine and caring.” Laura takes pride in the outcomes she sees in the people we serve. “I’m proud of the growth I’ve seen in the people I work with on a daily basis.”
Laura Outside of Rise
Outside of work, Laura enjoys spending time with family and friends, visiting thrift stores and garage sales, and trying new recipes in the kitchen.
