January Champion of the Month, Christopher Dittmer, has been a dedicated Direct Support Professional with Rise’s Community-Based Training and Employment (CBTE) program for nine years. Before joining Rise, Chris worked as a DSP in a group home setting. He was drawn to Rise by the promise of consistent work hours, competitive pay, and the benefit of having weekends and holidays off. Over nearly a decade, Chris has become a valued team member known for his adaptability, accountability, and unwavering commitment to the people he supports.

For Chris, the most rewarding part of his work at Rise is building relationships with the people he supports and witnessing their personal and professional growth. “I am proud of getting to see how much growth people served acquire in their work skills over time,” he shares. Chris’s colleagues hold him in high regard, highlighting his reliability and positive attitude. One coworker notes, “Chris is the most reliable person; I am so grateful to have him on my team!”

His ability to adapt to changes and take on additional responsibilities is another quality that stands out. Over the past year, Chris has embraced significant changes in processes and several unexpected closures at his work site while supporting multiple teams of Rise workers. A colleague remarked, “Chris has willingly embraced changes and works daily to collaborate with his coworker to ensure continuity of services.” His respectful and patient approach ensures that the people he supports receive consistent, high-quality care. Another team member adds, “Chris goes the extra mile to maintain a positive attitude while treating those he supports in a kind, respectful manner and tailoring his approach to meet each person’s needs.”

Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two children.
