Meet Angela Buisman

Mental Health Practitioner and Champion of the Month for November 2024 Angela Buisman has worked at Rise since 2019. Before working as part of our Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS) program, Angela built her experience with similar roles in both Minnesota and Alaska.

“I like the flexibility and support my job offers.  I have a great team with a great supervisor. That makes a world of difference!” Angela says. “I just love the job; being able to meet people where they’re at and solve problems on the spot.”

Angela’s Impact

Angela’s team acknowledges her as a dedicated and solution-focused person. As one colleague shares, “She actively listens to her team and people we serve and will provide reasonable solutions to concerns. She always keeps the persons served at the center of her work.”

Angela has been relied on to support streamlining internal processes and train others to learn them. She also has a knack for collaboration and acknowledging others. A coworker explains, “Angela is the “go to” person for a lot of things and will always take time to get an answer for someone. She goes above and beyond to recognize her team on a job well done.”

Angela Outside of Rise

When not at Rise, Angela spends a lot of time with her two children and has many personal interests. “I love music, painting, writing, and I am a total book-nerd. I like to be outside. Road trips, travel, and seeing friends and family is always a plus!”
