August Champion of the Month, Alex Eberhart, is a Case Manager on Rise’s remote services team. After completing her Master of Public Health degree in 2021, Alex was looking for her first full-time job. Her friend, Rise HR Generalist Paige Cihunka, told her about an opening at Rise. After interning as a health educator during graduate school, Alex felt drawn to non-profit work full-time. “When I saw how committed Rise was to offering person-centered services,” she shares, “I immediately knew that I should apply.”
Alex fits right into the Rise team. She has a passion for working with vulnerable populations and a dedication to making her work as person-centered as possible. “I have a meaningful career here,” she says. “The people served have taught me so much. They have taught me the importance of patience, kindness, and the true meaning of courage.”
According to her colleagues, Alex is a big asset to the Remote Services team. “Alex is the most respectable and polite person I have ever met and had the pleasure of working with,” a team member shares. “She treats absolutely everyone with the upmost respect and kindness.…Alex is truly an epitome of what it means to be person-centered.”
Alex has an immense impact, even beyond her team and the people she serves. As co-chair of Rise’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee, her dedication to person-centered practices impacts our entire organization. “I take great pride in my role as co-chair of our DEI committee, and I’m equally proud of leading the Rise-wide self-advocacy group for our persons served,” Alex shares. “Both of these responsibilities have enriched my connections with colleagues beyond the remote department.”
Outside of work, you can find Alex staying active and enjoying the great outdoors! “You can find me on walks, at the gym, reading, practicing yoga, or spending time with friends or family,” Alex says. “My boyfriend and I also enjoy camping, live music, playing pickleball and the occasional Netflix binge watch session.”
