January champion of the month, Andrew Price, joined Rise in early 2023 as a Direct Support Professional in our Community Based Training and Employment program. He brings previous experience working in several fields, including fast food, landscaping, digital sales, and within the disability community as a PCA.

Even before he joined our team, Andrew was no stranger to Rise. “My siblings have been in Rise programs for many years, so I have known of it for a very long time,” he shares. After college, Andrew found himself looking for a steady, fulfilling job. “I chose to work at Rise because I can see the positive difference I make in my clients’ lives every day,” he says. “There are not many occupations more fulfilling than helping people join the workforce and seeing the joy it brings them every day to have a community and have a job.”

According to colleagues, Andrew is a top performer and essential part of the CBTE team. Having stepped up to cover several different group community employment sites while other team members were on leave, Andrew has excelled at building relationships with both persons served and business partners. “Andrew is so selfless and always willing to help out wherever he is needed,” a colleague shares. “The persons served at every site adore him and enjoy having them as their supervisor.”

Andrew’s job overseeing group employment sites in the community means that he works with each person served to do the best work they can based on their unique skills, ensuring that both the work experience is positive and that the jobs get done properly. “What I like most about the job is seeing my clients smiles when I pick them up every day,” Andrew says. “Seeing them happy to see me makes my day every time.”

Outside of work, you can find Andrew snowboarding, thrifting, and – in the summertime – at the beach.
